How to get to Braga

 

The best flight destination to get to Braga is Francisco Sá Carneiro airport, in OPorto (OPO – www.ana-aeroportos.pt). Braga is located in the North of Portugal about 50 km from the city of Porto. Vigo Airport (VIG – Vigo Airport (Spain) ) is also less then one hour drive to Braga.

By Car

When traveling by car you will find many ways to get at Braga. Traveling from the North you may take the highway from La Coruña or Vigo (Spain) and then the A3 in Valença. From East you have the highways A5 and A4 from Bragança and Vila Real. From South there is the highway A1 which connects to the Algarve, Lisbon and OPorto
and from the Spanish border at Vilar Formoso.

By Plane

The nearest airport to Braga is the Sá Carneiro International Airport (in Porto, OPO), an half hour drive to Braga.

From the airport to Braga by Car – take A41, direction A3, Braga, Maia; take highway A3, direction Valença, Braga

From the airport to Braga by Taxi – around 65€

From the airport to Braga by GetBus – one-way 8€; go & return 14€.

But you can also go to Oporto centre:

Underground (Metro) to Porto (then bus or train to Braga)

Bus 56 to Porto City centre (every 20 minutes)

Aerobus to Porto centre (every 30 minutes). This bus is available Monday to Friday from 9am until 7pm.

From Porto centre there are a number of ways to get to Braga:

  • by bus – from the centre of Porto (station TRINDADE)
